Small businesses Medium-Difficult to Obtain Bank Loans

NSN/Medan - Bank loans seem to still not familiar with the perpetrators of Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM). The reason, UKM rarely have assets that can be used as collateral to obtain working capital loans from banks.
Chairman of the UKM Center, Denny Mirza Faisal, said that UKM have trouble getting a loan because they do not have the collateral to be pledged as a letter (certificate) of land. "In fact, most of them are still contracted," said Denny.

He added that there are UKM that manage to get a loan. But usually the numbers are small because they are too small volume of business. Such loans, said Denny, can not help the capital to make the effort to be more advanced.

Denny does not deny that there are also UKM can get financial aid for joining UKM associations or organizations receiving assistance, for example of a company's CSR funds.

Head of Economic and Monetary Bank Indonesia (BI) Regional North Sumatra and Aceh, Mikael Budisatrio said, the growth of micro enterprises in the banking Sumatra grew by 47.95% in 2011. However, small business growth is a bit slow, only 14.48% and the growth of micro and small enterprises by 22.84%.
